Abstract. Purpose:To report a case who received exchange of intraocular lens(IOP)for impaired vision due to glistening and whitening. Case:A 78-year-old woman presented with impaired vision in her right eye. She had received cataract surgery with implantation of IOL 6 years before. She had had reportedly visual acuity of 0.8 immediately after surgery. Findings:Corrected visual acuity was 0.4 in the right eye. Slit-lamp examination showed glistening and whitening of IOP. Funduscopy showed slight chorioretinal atrophy which was the same as immediately after surgery. She received exchange of IOL resulting in corrected visual acuity of 0.8. Conclusion:This case illustrates that glistening and whitening of IOL may result in impaired visual function. Exchange of IOL may be useful in such a situation.
