Abstract. Purpose:To report 3 infants suspected of shaken baby syndrome. Cases and Findings:All were female babies and showed preretinal and acute subdural hemorrhage. One was seen at the age of 2 months. The father admitted child abuse. The other presented with convulsion at the age of 3 months. The mother admitted having shaken the baby. The third presented with convulsion following accidental mild trauma to the head. Her parents denied abuse or intense shaking. Shaken baby syndrome was suspected due to objective finding. Conclusion:Child abuse or shaken baby syndrome is to be suspected when an infant presents with intracranial or retinal hemorrhage. Participation of ophthalmologist is mandatory in the diagnosis.
