Purpose:To evaluate the outcome of T-shaped incision for glaucoma with or without simultaneous cataract surgery. Cases and Methods:The study involved 30glaucoma eyes in 20 patients. The series comprised open-angle glaucoma 21 eyes,narrow-angle glaucoma with pseudoexfoliation 7 eyes, and traumatic glaucoma 2 eyes. Eyes were judged as survival when the intraocular pressure(IOP)was well-controlled either singly or with fewer medications. Result:IOP decreased by an average of 5.4mmHg 6months after surgery. Medication was reduced by 1.5 preparations. Filtering bleb was formed in 7 eyes. The survival rate was 83.3%at 3months and 76.7%at 6months. Three eyes needed additional glaucoma surgery. Conclusion:T-shaped incision for glaucoma was effective and minimally insulting when performed either alone or during cataract surgery.
