  • Look Inside

We observed two cases of orbital hematoma. It developed spontaneously in a 51-year-old woman, followed by proptosis and acute ocular hypertension within 12 hours of onset. Cure was obtained by surgical removal of orbital hematoma. A 25-year-old woman developed proptosis after she was hit on her head while falling from a horse. She later showed acute epidural hematoma, cerebral contusion, and subarachnoidal hematoma, necessitating surgical removal of hematoma. The proptosis proved to be due to intraorbital hematoma and subsided spontaneously after 2 weeks. The intraorbital hematoma was located external to the periost in both cases.
