シリコーンオイル注入眼のオイル貪食細胞のEDXAによる分析

Energy dispersive X-ray analysis of cells containing phagocytized silicone oil

　シリコーンオイルを併用して硝子体手術が行われた6眼に，シリコーンオイル抜去を行い，その際に採取された増殖膜を検索した。シリコーンオイルが眼内にあった期間は3～14か月，平均9か月であった。原疾患は，加齢黄斑変性3眼，増殖糖尿病網膜症2眼，網膜剝離1眼である。増殖膜の中の貧食細胞中の空胞にX線元素分析で，そのほとんどに珪素に相当する所見が得られた。空胞付近の細胞質にはこの所見はなかった。貧食細胞に取り込まれたシリコーンオイルは分解されずに細胞内に存在し，眼内組織に影響を与え続ける可能性があると結論される。

　We examined proliferative membrane obtained during removal of silicone oil from 6 eyes. These eyes had received vitrectomy with silicone oil implantation 3 to 14months before. Surgery had been performed for age-related macular degeneration 3 eyes,proliferative diabetic retinopathy 2 eyes,and retinal detachment 1 eye. X-ray analysis showed the presence of silicone in almost all the vacuoles in phagocytes in the proliferative membrane. Silicone was absent in the cytoplasm adjacent to the vacuoles. The findings show that phagocytized silicone oil remains as vacuoles within the cells. There is a possibility that silicone oil is spared from degradation and may continue to affect intraocular tissues.
