2004年4月までの9か月間に来院したコンタクトレンズ装用者にアンケート調査を行い，7,542人から有効回答を得た。男性2,601名，女性4,941名であり，1,913名が1日使い捨てコンタクトレンズ，5,629名が2週間頻回交換コンタクトレンズを装用していた。4.0％が1日使い捨てコンタクトレンズを2日以上使用していた。24.1％が2週間頻回交換コンタクトレンズを15日以上使用していた。1年間に20箱以下の1日使い捨てコンタクトレンズを購入していた人の7.2％が2日以上使用し，7箱以下の2週間頻回交換コンタクトレンズを購入していた人の46.1％が15日以上使用していた。

A total number of 7,542 users of daily disposable soft contact lenses（DDSCL）and two week frequent replacement soft contact lenses（2W-FRSCL）,who visited Okada Eye Clinic institutions in the period between August 1,2003 and April 31,2004 were interviewed. Survey respondents were as follows：2,601 males,4,941 females,1,913 DDSCL users,5,629 2W-FRSCL users. Four percent of DDSCL users exceeded the instructed daily replacement schedule,while 24.1％ of 2W-FRSCL exceeded the instructed fortnightly replacement schedule. The annual purchases of 2,947 of the survey respondents were tallied. Of these users,7.2％ of DDSCL users who purchased twenty boxes or less and 46.1％ of 2W-FRSCL users who purchased seven boxes or less wore their lenses for periods exceeding those in the instructions.
