We investigated the outcome achievement rate in 85 cases treated according to a clinical pathway for cervical laminoplasty, and evaluated the validity of the clinical pathway. The final outcome achievement rate (discharge from hospital within 14 days postoperatively) was 47%,and the median postoperative hospital stay was 14 days. Thus, the setting of the clinical pathway was considered to be valid. We considered 2 methods to correspond to the variance cases in which the final outcome was not achieved:1) to segmentalize the indication criteria of the clinical pathway, and 2) to set the index to change the final target during the patient's hospital course.
