Purpose:To clarify the clinical results of treating distal humerus fractures with locking compression plate (LCP) distal humerus plate. Subjects and methods:The subjects were one male and four females, and their mean age was 72.6 years old. According to the AO/ASIF classification system, there was one type A2 case, one type A3 case, one type C2 case and two type C3 cases. We assessed these cases in relation to the external fixation period after the operation, correction loss, presence of complications, JOA scores, and final range of motion. Results:The mean postoperative external fixation period in the cases with an intra-articular fracture was 1.3 days. No external fixation was used in the cases with an extra-articular fracture. Bone healing without correction loss was achieved in every case. Temporary ulnar nerve paralysis occurred in two of the intra-articular fracture cases. Average extension of the elbow was -20 degrees, and average flexion of the elbow was 120 degrees. Conclusion:The LCP distal humerus plate provides satisfactory functional results when used to treat distal humeral fractures.
