A very rare case of chondromyxoidfibroma origi-nated from the petrous pyramid was reported.

A 15 year old girl was admitted with complaintof bony swelling at left retroauricular region, left deafness, diplopia, left facial palsy and hoarseness.

Neurologically, left V th, VI th, VII th, VIII th, IX th, X th cranialnerves were impaired.

The examinations revealed a huge extradural tumor located at the left middle cranial fossa, and it extended to the left posterior cranial fossa.

When operated on, the tumor proved to originate from the diploe of the left petrous pyramid.

The tumor had grown up so large that it weighed 175 gr and was extirpated completely.

The gross appearence of the tumor was the mass of yellowish orange, semitranslucent, mucinous, jelly like clot. Histologically, the tumor was diag-nosed as chondromyxoidfibroma. Postoperative course was uneventful at present, one year and nine months after surgery.

She is in good condition without any sign of recurrence.
