  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

A girl of 15 years old with a large prefrontal falx meningioma was reported. At the age of 12, her parents had become aware of abnormal behavior, such as euphoric, shameless and wanton behavior. She had been placed in an institution for protection and guidance of children and a mental hospital be-cause of sexual looseness and epileptic seizures since 13 years of age. She had met a traffic accident and roentogenologic examinations of her skull had re-vealed an abnormal large calcification about 6 × 6 × 5 cm in size in the prefrontal region, which was thought to be a psammomatous meningioma. Total extirpation of the tumor was performed and patho-logical examination of the tumor proved it to be a large osteoblastic meningioma (115 g) originating from the falx, which had caused marked atrophy of both frontal lobes. The postoperative course was uneventful ; the EEC findings were improved with-out any remarkable change of her abnormal beha-vior.
