CLINICAL TESTING OF MESO-INOSITOL-HEXANICOTINATE

I．緒論

　Vitamin B群に属するニコチン酸の薬理作用，臨床効果については，今日まで各方面において研究，報告されてきたが，近時，脳血管障害の増加に伴いニコチン酸の末梢血管に対する諸作用の再認識がなされるようになつた。しかし，これらニコチン酸の作用は急激で，持続時間が短く，その上顔面紅潮，胃腸障害，蟻走感，発汗などの不快な副作用の強いことなどが問題にされ，ここにニコチン酸の新誘導体としてのMeso-Inositol-He—xanicotinate （Hexanicit）がニコチン酸の欠点を補うものとして，新たに登場した。

　Hexanicitは第1図に示すような化学構造式でInositolとNicotin酸のエステル結合体である。

Hexanicit, which is an ester of nicotinic ac-id and inositol, has been tested clinically in one case of peripheral vascular, in 7 cases of head injuries, and in 4 cases of cerebral vas-cular disorders.

Results were as follows :

1) Of one case of peripheral vascular, disor-der, various complaints were improved rapidly after administration of Hexanicit without oth-er vasodilating agents.

2) Of cases of head injuries, Hexanicit was found to have a favourable effect on gene-ralized symptoms (headache, irritability or hypochondriasis, etc.).

3) Of cases of cerebral vascular disorders, improvement of symptoms have been obtain-ed in all cases except focal symptoms such as aphasia or agnosia, etc.

4) The side effects were extremely insigni-ficant.
