In the early morning of four days before-admission, a 47 years old man complained sud-denly nausea, vomitting, dizziness and motor disturbances of left extremities, and hiccough, hoarse voice and difficulty to swallow came out in the afternoon. The patient was thought 1st type of Wallenberg's syndrome because of acute bulbarparlysis and sensory dissociat-ion, and was proved circulatory insufficiency of vertebro-basilar artery and absence of letf posterior inferior cerebellar artery in verteb-ral arteriograms. Disappearing his chief com-plaints, marked circulatory improvement of vertebro-hasilar artery was showed in the arteriogram done 70 days after admission.

Authors summed up 61 cases of Wallen-berg's syndrome had ever reported in Japan and studied age or sex frequency, sides of damage and causes of arterial occlusion etc.
