  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

One family of the hereditary ataxia of Friedreich was described. Three male mem. bers in this family showed typical Fried-reich's ataxia with hearing defect which ap-peared as an initial syndrome of all at the age of twenty and which severity are coinci-dental to the degree of ataxia. Clinical picture of this hearing defect is similar to that of familial deafness. We discussed relation of hereditary factors of Friedreich's ataxia and of deafness which seem to be transmitted by the similar reccessive gene.

Additional two abortive cases of Fried-reich's ataxia and two cases of familial deafness also found in the same sibship.
