■問題の背景
「患者の自己決定権とその能力」というのが与えられた課題ではあるが，ここでの議論の焦点は患者一般ではなく，精神障害を持つ患者にあることはいうまでもない。そして，精神障害者の自己決定権とその能力が議論の対象となるに至った背景には，次のような事情がある。
