  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

The present study investigated the characteristics of patients whose ischemic events were interrupted by intravenous thrombolysis. The ischemic process seemed to be interrupted completely when the CPK time -activity curve showed a slight increase not exceeding twice the upper limit of normal range. In 7 of 46 patients (15%) who underwent intravenous throm-bolysis, the ischemic process was interrupted. The time interval between onset of symptoms and start of throm-bolysis was 76±35 min. The complete resolution ( > 70%) of ST-elevation was seen in all patients. No abnormal Q was seen except in one patient. LVEF at discharge was 73±8%.5 patients underwent PTCA or CABG because of exercise-induced ischemia in the chronic stage. Therefore we need careful follow-up after the application of tPA.
