  • Look Inside

T wave abnormality at rest is one of common ischeinic ECG changes. But, T wave change by exercise stress test is controversy for the diagnosis of ischemia. The twenty one patients (nine femalesand twelve males), who showed exercise induced T wave normalization by Master two-step test, were investigated. Their mean age was 59 years (range 24-74 years). They performed stress myocardial scintigraphy (SMS) for the evaluation of ischemia. A symptom-limited multistaging bicycle exercise test was used. Each patient recieved 2 mCi of 201Tlintravenously at maximal exercise. Image of scintigrams were recorded at ten minutes and 2.5 hours after injection for anterior, 45°LAO, 60°LAOand left lateral view. Four patients, who showed T wave normalization and ST segment deviation by Master's test, showed ischemia by SMS. In re-maining seventeen patients who showed T wave normalization only, eight patients showed ischemia by SMS.

We concluded that T wave normalization by Master two-step test is one of the findings that fairly suggests ischemia.
