心室中隔と心機能について—非収縮性人工中隔心の機能

The Interventricular Septum and Cardiac Performance:Function of the Canine Heart with a Noncontractile Septum

　心室収縮力に占める心室中隔の役割については不明な点が多い。さらに心室中隔はただ単に左心室を構成する心筋の一部としての役割をもつのみか，それともその部位による特殊性，すなわち，心室腔の分割，刺激伝導系の通路などといった機能以外に，何か特別の役割をもつかもまた不明である。

　本実験は心室中隔を非収縮性人工中隔で置換することにより，現在根治手術不能に近い単心室症および心筋硬塞などによる中隔機能不全に対し，中隔を造設する方法の開発を試みると同時に，非収縮性人工中隔で置換した長期生存犬の心機能を調べることにより，心室中隔の機能をもあわせ解明しようと試みたものである。

The interventricular septum of the normal canine heart is replaceable with a noncontractile septum. As the tricuspid valve was inevitably destroyed on the resection of the septum, the valve was repaired or replaced with a prosthesis. Cardiac performance in a group, in which the valve was replaced with a prosthesis, was normal or close to normal and that of a group with a repaired tricuspid valve was subnormal, probably due to mitral insufficiency resulted from the resection.
