In view of studying conditions and changes in the coronary vessels at rest and during anoxia test, the following experiments were done. Coronary sinus catheterization was performed on men and dogs with normal heart and with coronary vascular lesions, and various circulatory dynamics were measured. Special emphasis was laid on the coronary vascular elastance obtained from the pressure curve of coronary sinus and coronary blood flow per beat, and also on the coronary blood volume which was calculated from the dye dilution curve of the blood taken from the coro-nary sinus after the injection of the dye into the left ventricle and from coronary blood flow.

1. At rest, the coronary blood volume of the heart with coronary vascular lesion was not so different from that of the normal heart. But the coronary vascular elastance of the coronary vascular lesion was lessened than that of the normal heart.

2. In anoxia test, marked increase in the coronary blood volume and decrease in the coronary vascular elastance were observed in the normal heart.

In the heart with coronary vascular lesion, the coronary blood volume was increased as much as in the normal heart. The coronary vascular elastance, however, was markedly increased.

3. The coronary vessel, which fell into decompensation on anoxia test, regained compensated state after the cessation of anoxia test and the coronary vascular elastance restored the pre-anoxic state. Therefore, this changes is reversible, within some limits.
