We suggested SuSA(superficially serrated adenoma)as a novel subtype of colorectal serrated lesion, which is characterized by mixed adenomatous and serrated features. Along with the characteristic histological features, the vast majority of SuSAs harbor concurrent KRAS mutations and RSPO fusions/overexpression. These genetic features of SuSAs are common to TSAs(traditional serrated adenomas) ; SuSAs were seen in association with 12% of TSAs. Our observations indicate that SuSA is a morphologically and molecularly distinct subtype of colorectal serrated lesion that is histogenetically related to TSA.
