Difference between Retrieval Methods in the Histological Evaluation of Cold Snare Polypectomy Specimen

要旨●cold snare polypectomyは切除される標本が脆弱であるためにポリープトラップでの回収を行うと高率に標本の損傷が生じる．筆者らは吸引ボタンの存在が損傷の原因と考え，吸引ボタンを介さずに回収するため鉗子チャンネルからの吸引回収を考案した．ポリープトラップ回収では27/89病変で損傷が生じたのに対して，鉗子チャンネルからの回収での損傷はわずかに1/68病変であり，明らかに損傷率が低かった．吸引ボタンの存在が標本損傷の原因であることが示唆され，回収方法によって，組織学的評価が大きく影響されることが示された．

　Cold snare polypectomy specimens are fragile ; therefore, the probability of specimen damage is high. We hypothesized suction button to be the cause of specimen damage and devised a new method to retrieve specimens without passing them through the suction button. Retrieval through device channel avoids specimen damage. During retrieval using polyp trap, 27/89 lesions were damaged, whereas during retrieval using the new method, only 1/68 lesion was damaged ; thus, the damage rate using the new method was evidently low. This suggested that passage through the suction button was the cause of specimen damage.
