The incidence of AMY(amyloidosis)associated with CD(Crohn's disease)was 4.8%(11 of 230 cases). The 5-, 10-, 20-, and 25-year cumulative AMY complication rates after CD development were 0.96, 1.61, 5.23, and 14.5%, respectively. The complication rate was significantly higher in patients with a CD onset age younger than 20 years and those with extensive small intestinal lesions. The amyloid positive rate on biopsy was 100%in the stomach/duodenum and 70% in the rectum. Urinary protein was frequently detected before AMY was diagnosed, and hemodialysis was initiated after 3.0 years on average. Four patients died 0.2-3.7 years after the diagnosis of AMY. Imaging of amyloid deposition revealed a crack-like appearance of the gastric angle mucosa, rough mucosa due to many fine granule-like protrusions, and diffuse lesions with surface elements.
