A case of early gastric cancer is reported of superficial depressed type, Type Ⅱc, located on the greater curvature. It was correctly diagnosed prior to the operation.

Marked convergence of mucosal folds and elevation of gastric mucosa are seen surrounding cancerous ulceration. These findings are characteristic of lesion on the greater curvature side of the stomach.

In bariumfilled X-ray study, an indentation and irregularity of the gastric wall are noted, while in double contrast view, abrupt cessation of mucosal folds with their slender ends are visualized. In proportioned compression study is also recognized an irregularly outlined barium depot with discontinued folds and their slender ends.

By endoscopy, a depressed lesion is seen with irregular exudate over it as well as surrounding rugged area and interrupted folds.

Pathohistologically this lesion is confirmed as adenocarcinoma tubulare with slight mucosal involvement, located on the greater curvature of the lower gastric body.
