Comparison between Japanese and Foreign Pathologists in Their Diagnoses of Cap Polyposis of the Colorectum

要旨　cap polyposis（CP）5症例を含む大腸の炎症と腫瘍，24症例，26病変の電子画像組織診断を外国人23名，日本人10名にお願いした．同時に簡単な肉眼所見を添付した．回答が得られたのは，外国人8名，日本人6名であった．本稿の目的であるCP組織診断率（50％以上）は日本で3/6と高く，外国で1/8と低かった．回答内容から判断すると，CPの診断率が外国で低い理由はCPの経験がないか少ないことに起因していると推定された．

　I asked 23 foreign and 10 Japanese pathologists to make diagnoses of 26 colorectal lesions which, on simple telepathology, included inflammatory bowel disease, tumor and tumor-like lesions.

　Answers came from 8 foreigners and 6 Japanese.

　The object of this paper was to compare the diagnostic accuracy rates of these pathologists confronted with cap polyposis.

　Three out of six Japanses and only one out of eight foreign pathologists attaried a 50％ or higher accuracy rate.

　The reasons for this lower diagnotic accuracy rate among the foreign pathologists were discussed.
