 Endoscopic diagnosis of histology for the early gastric cancer is very important, because the risk of lymph node metastasis has a deep relationship to histology. A 3mm area was decided by white light and NBI magnified endoscopy to clarify the relationship between the endoscopic and histological findings. The histology of the target area ; Well, moderate and poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma was 39,12 and 2, respectively.

 Result : the accuracy of NBI magnified endoscopy for well, moderate and poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma was 69%(27/39),58%(7/12)and 50%(1/2), respectively. And the total accuracy of NBI magnified endoscopy was 66%(35/53). The accuracy of acetic acid NBI magnified endoscopy of well, moderate, poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma was 90%(35/39),92%(11/12)and 100%(2/2). And, the total accuracy was 91%(48/53). There was a significant difference between NBI magnified and acetic acid NBI magnified endoscopy(p=0.013). Therefore,NBI magnified endoscopy with acetic acid is a useful method for the histological diagnosis of early gastric cancer.
