要旨　症例は71歳，女性．心窩部不快感のため当院を受診．上部消化管内視鏡検査にて胃体上部から中部小彎に不整形の広範な白色調の陥凹性病変を認めた．同部の生検病理組織所見では扁平上皮で，異型細胞はみられなかった．胃粘膜に異型のない扁平上皮がみられるのは非常にまれである．今回われわれは，胃体部小彎側に広範に扁平上皮化生を認めた症例を経験したので報告する．

　A 71-year-old woman visited our hospital complaining of unpleasantness in the epigastrium. Endoscopic examination revealed an irregular whitish mucosal lesion in the lesser curvature of the gastric body. The lesion was partly connected to the esophageal mucosa and had a diameter of approximately 5 cm. The result of the histological examination from the biopsy specimens of the lesion was squamous epithelium. We report a case of squamous metaplasia of the stomach.
