In this narrative report, we describe our experiences, firstly performing hospital service recovery activities during the 2016 Kumamoto Earthquake, and secondly providing disaster rehabilitation (rehab) support to evacuation shelters and other facilities following the July 2020 heavy rains disaster. Disasters can occur anywhere, and anyone can become a victim, a support-provider, or a support-recipient. As professionals, it is necessary to calmly and comprehensively assess one's own role and act accordingly. It is important to receive disaster rehab education in advance.
