  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

Since the Great East Japan Earthquake, a number of other disasters have occurred in Fukushima prefecture, including the damage caused by Typhoon No.19 of 2019 and also an earthquake with its epicenter off the coast of Fukushima prefecture. The facility to which I belong was damaged during the Great East Japan Earthquake. I did whatever I could at that time. After that, I became director in charge of disaster rehabilitation of Fukushima Speech-language-hearing Therapists Association (FSTA). In normal times, information related to disaster rehabilitation was disseminated and communication methods were reviewed. At the time of Typhoon No.19 of 2019, the facility to which I am affiliated was damaged again. I did what I could as a member of the department. As the FSTA director in charge of disaster rehabilitation, I was responsible for the collection and dissemination of information. We have been accumulating what we can do in normal times and how to respond to emergencies. Looking back, I have been able to do more with the help of various people. I would like to continue to use my experience and build a disaster rehabilitation system.
