[Background/Purpose]Many surgeries in obstetrics and gynecology, urology, surgery, and other departments are performed laparoscopically, and we investigate making origami cranes using a dry box, a method used in laparoscopic training. [Methods/Results]One initial resident aiming for surgical specialities made 1,000 paper cranes using a dry box, respectively, and the average time was 6minutes. Learning curve was analyzed using the cumulative sum method, and the estimated number of paper cranes was 184-312 cranes.[Discussion]The average time required to create one origami crane decreased as the number of cranes made increased. The cumulative sum method made it possible to calculate the learning curve.
