要 旨 胃の正常組織像，萎縮および化生，胃炎などの非腫瘍性疾患，胃癌などの腫瘍性疾患における病理診断の流れについて概説した。正常構造を把握したうえで，どの部位にどのような異常が生じるかを念頭におきながら組織像を理解することは，内視鏡所見の適切な理解にも有用である。
The flow of pathological diagnoses of the stomach, including atrophy, metaplasia, non-neoplastic diseases such as gastritis, and neoplastic diseases such as gastric cancer, is outlined. After understanding the typical structure of the stomach, it is helpful to understand the histology of the stomach, keeping in mind which areas of the gastric mucosa are abnormal and what kind of abnormalities may occur, to understand the endoscopic findings properly.
