　発達障害を「発達期に種々の原因により，通常その年齢で獲得されるはずの機能の習得に躓きをみせている子ども達」と捉え，それぞれの障害の発達特徴を整理した．さらに，その中から特異的言語発達障害・知的障害・アスペルガー障害の事例を取り上げ，その指導経過を報告した．また近年，教育界における特殊教育から特別支援教育への改正に伴い，外部専門家として言語聴覚士(ST)にも教育への支援要請が高まってきていることを踏まえ，STとして何ができるのかを検討した．

　The author reports the developmental characteristics of developmental disorders.　Three children, one with specific language impairment, one with mental retardation, and one with Asperger's disorder, are introduced.　The progress that each child made during intervention is reported, and the role of speech-language-hearing therapists in special needs education is discussed.
