　Ⅰ．緒言

　耳管開放症とは耳管が常に開放していて，閉鎖できないために種々の症状を呈するものをいうが，耳管狭窄症に比較すると稀なものである。

　本症は1867年Gagoによつて耳管開放症として報告されて以来Voltolin, Buek, Bezoldらにより相ついで報告され，本邦においても1950年の高原（滋）^1）の報告以後多数見られわれわれの既に行なつた報告2例^6）7）（耳喉31巻356頁，日耳鼻63巻2420頁）を含めると60例の臨床報告が挙げられる。

　A case of abnormal patency of the Eustachian tube in a woman, aged 48 and rather thin in the body-build, recovered when a 5% tincture of iodide was instilled into the Eustachian tube entrande, is reported.

　Other reports in the literature are reviewed. The authors relegated the cause of this condition to the loss of fatty tissues and the muscular tonus about the entrance of the Eustachian tube.
