化膿性耳下腺炎を思わしめた外耳道異物による耳下腺周囲膿瘍

　緒言

　外耳道異物の報告は実に夥しく山本（哲）の如く精細を極めた分類をも見る事が出来る。その殆どは外耳道を介して進入したものであり，次に多く見られるのは耳管を通じて鼓室内に存在する耳内異物，その外，口腔内とか耳周囲より外傷として侵入する異物をも稀に見る事がある。余は約半年前耳漏清拭のため用いたマツチ軸の折端並に綿花を放置しそのまゝ忘却せしため慢性中耳炎に外耳炎を併発，更に外耳道底より耳下腺周囲に及び同部に膿瘍を形成せし一例に遭遇し，初診時恰も化膿性耳下腺炎を思わしめ術を進め，耳根治手術により初めて異物を発見せし症例を経験したので御報告する。

Harada reports a case of abcess that occur-red in the parotid gland region that simulated an acute suppurative parotitis.The patient was found to be suffering chronic otitis media with constant otorrhoea and for this reason a radical mastoidectomy was performed in face of an erroneous diagnosis of suppurative parotitis.

At the operation, however,it was revealed that the abcess in question was the result of contiguous infection that occurred from the inferior wall of the external canal which had been inflicted with injury at some time pre-viously when the patient had attempted to clean his ear with a piece of match stick.A broken piece of the match stick was found in the external canal.The patient made an une-ventful recovery.
