I．はじめに

　細菌性髄膜炎に尿閉が合併することは比較的報告されているが，無菌性（いわゆるウイルス性の）髄膜炎にそれが合併することは稀で，報告例も非常に少ない^1-8）．今回われわれは，ウイルス性髄膜炎に尿閉を合併し，約1カ月の経過で軽快した症例を経験したので，若干の文献的考察を加えて報告する．

A 46-year-old male was admitted to our hospital with headache, high fever and subsequent conscious-ness disturbance. Spinal fluid examination intimated aseptic meningitis. Not only these symptoms but blad-dar dysfunction was presented. The patient was treated with conservative therapy and bladdar dysfunction was resolved a month and a half later. We report a case of urinary retention secondary to aseptic mening-itis and review the clinical presentation and treatment.
