I．はじめに

　浅側頭動脈に発生する動脈瘤は稀であるが，浅側頭動脈は走行が長く，かつ頭蓋骨上で，頭皮下の比較的浅い層を走行しているため，その報告例の殆どは外傷に起因したものであり，いわゆる"偽性動脈瘤^{1-3,6,8,9,11）}"と呼ばれるものである．今回著者らは特に外傷の既往を認めず，組織学的にも"真性"であると思われた稀な浅側頭動脈動脈瘤の1例を経験したので若干の文献的考察を加え報告する．

A rare case of a 14-year-old boy with a spontaneous (true) aneurysm of the superficial temporal artery is presented. The mass in the right parietal region was pulsatile and gradually enlarged in size for the last several months without any notable history of head trauma. The mass was successfully removed by surgery and has proved histopathologically to be a true aneurysm. While almost all cases of the superficial tem-poral artery aneurysm reported are traumatic ones, the true aneurysm of this artery which is verified by angiography is extremely rare.
