はじめに

　髄膜腫はクモ膜細胞を母地とし硬膜に付着して発生する腫瘍で，原発性脳腫瘍全体の約1/4を占めている^1）。髄膜腫のほとんどは頭蓋内部に向かって進展するが，稀に頭蓋外に進展したり発生したりする場合がある。今回われわれはこうした髄膜腫を3例経験したので，文献的考察を加えて報告する。

　We reported three rare cases of extracranial meningiomas. The first case was a 92-year-old woman with a huge meningioma of the middle cranial fossa extending to the infratemporal fossa. She received radiotherapy, but died of tumor 3 years later. The second is a 75-year-old wo-man with meningioma confined in the middle ear. The third is a 74-year-old woman with a huge meningioma of the anterior cranial fossa extending to the ethmoid and nasal sinuses. The latter two patients underwent total removal of the tumors, and have been surviving without recurrence for 19 and 7 months, respectively, after surgery.
