　アルゴンレーザー光凝固による睫毛乱生症37眼の治療成績を報告した。レーザーの照射条件は，50μm,750mW,0.1秒で，照射数は睫毛根部に達するまで任意に設定した。睫毛1本あたり20回以上照射した場合に有意な治療効果が認められた。この方法は局所麻酔を必要とせず，外来で簡便に行うことができる。初回照射の有効率は50％程度なので1回の治療で有効な結果を得ることは困難であったが，反復治療によって治療効果のあがる可能性がある。

We treated symptomatic trichiasis by argon laser photocoagulation. The series comprised 37eyelids with aberrant lashes in 20 patients. Each eyelash was treated by repeated laser exposures of 50μmin size and 750mW for 0.1 sec without anesthesia. Satisfactory result with no evidence of recurrence wasobtained in 19% of eyelids. Decrease in the number of aberrant lashes resulted in 32% of lids after the initialsession. A significant correlation was present between the number of laser applications and the therapeuticeffect. Typically, 20 to 30 laser applications per eyelash showed the best effect. Argon laser photocoagulationis advocated as a safe and effective method for trichiasis.
