　風疹網膜症（以下，網膜症）は視機能には著明な影響がなく，治療の対象とならないために比較的問題にされないできたが，その病像が特徴的であるためretrospectiveな診断根拠として重要視されている。網膜症は生下時にすでに存在し，その後進行しないものであると考えられていた。しかし，網膜症が生後発症して進行する例もあるとの報告もあったが，写真による記録がなく疑問視されてきた。今回筆者らは，一例ではあるが発症の前後を写真で記録でき，生後発症したことを確認した。

A case of congenital rubella syndrome showing progression was reported. A female infant with low birth weight, cardiac murmur and hyperbilir-ubinemia was diagnosed as congenital rubella syn-drome with serological examination. Ophthalmos-copically, no apparent findings of rubella retinopathy and cataract were found at 34 days after birth. Nuclear cataract of the left eye appear-ed and progrence during follow-up period. Focal loss and accumulation of retinal pigments Salt and pepper appearance were observed until three months after birth. It is the first report on which the progression of rubella retinopathy were document-ed by photography.
