　エキシマレーザー装置に新しい光学系を試作し使用した。ヘリウムネオンレーザーをエイミングビームとして用いたこの光学系により，6種類の異なった型の角膜切開が可能となった。この光学系の中で主としてスリット状に集光するものを用いて，エキシマレーザーを家兎角膜に照射し，角膜厚の1／3の深さで角膜中央部に切開を行った。照射時間は光学系を用いない場合より約半分に短縮された。照射直後に眼球を摘出し，光学顕微鏡学的，電子顕微鏡学的に検索を行った。切開創は鋭利であったが，その形状は先端部が鈍なV字形であった。また切開の深さは同一角膜の中央部では深く，周辺部ではやや浅めであった。新しく開発した光学系の利点，欠点について考察した。

We developed a new optical system for corneal ablation with excimer laser at 193 nm wavelength. An auxiliary helium-neon laser is used for aiming. The system offers a choice of 6 shapes of corneal incisions including linear, circular, oral and triangle ones.

We applied the system to produce linear corneal incisions in the rabbit. The ablation time was reduced to one half because of the new system.Histological examinations showed the surface of the wound to be more smooth and wider than when incised with the non-optical system. With the pres-ent system, the corss section of the wound was V -shaped. The depth of incision was deeper in the central than in the peripheral cornea.

Movement of the eye during treatment seemed to be a major factor for depth of the incision. Our new system seemed to be of value in shortening the time of ablation and in allowing to achieve more consis-tent effects.
