　糖尿病に於ける眼病変に就ては古くから色々と報告があるが，水晶体に関するものが最も多い様である。之に次で我々の注意を惹くものは網膜の変化である。

　臨床上糖尿病性網膜炎の所見として挙げられるものは出血及び白斑であるが更に網膜細血管の動脈瘤に対しては最近Ballantyne,Loewen-stein，Ashton,Friedenwald等の仕事により特に注意が向けられる様になつた。

In one case showed Kimmelstiel-Wilson's syndrome, the polysacchrides were investigated his-tochemically proving the accumlation of glycogen around the cone feet, cone fibers, inner se-gments of rods, and outer segments of rods. These signs have not been reported yet. The authors considered that these signs were specific in diabetes mellitus and attributed to abnormal metabolism of glucose.
