緒言

　網膜動脈閉塞症のなかには高気圧酸素療法により視機能の改善を示す症例があり，その作用機序，電気生理学的探究，ならびに副作用等に関してはすでに詳しく報告した^1）。今回は既報の4例に加え，14例の本疾患に対する高気圧酸素療法の効果につき述べる。

Fourteen cases of retinal arterial occlusion were treated with hyperbaric oxygen (OHP). Results were analyzed and special effort was made to clarify the factors which decided res-ponses to the treatment.

1. The treatment was effective in eight cases and ineffective in six cases, when judged by visual functions performed before and after (or during) the first OHP application. This crite-rion was found to be sufficiently indicative of overall results and to eliminate possible confu-sion with the effects of other treatments intro-duced later on.
