はじめに

　近年，コンタクトレンズ装用性の問題，屈折異常成因の解明等に関連して，角膜表面の形状を測定する必要性が高まつている。これらに関して多くの試みが報告されているが，その一つとして，フォトケラトスコピーがある^1）〜8）。

　この方法は，角膜前方に同心円板等をおいて角膜によるその反射像を撮影し，撮影した像をフィルムから計測する事により，角膜各部の曲率半径等を求めようとするものである。従来の方法は，撮影の際にピント合わせを厳密に行なわなければならない，撮影像が全面にわたつて明瞭なものにはなりにくく正確な計測がむずかしいなどの欠点を持ち，測定精度が不十分で，非球面である角膜表面の定量的な測定に用いるのは困難であつた。

A new experimental apparatus was developed for determining the corneal configuration. A collimated light beam is reflected at the cornea to various directions, among which only the parallel light with the optical axis is recorded on a photographic film through an objective. When the corneal configuration is specified by means of two-dimensional x-y representation, the incident angle of the collimated light beam with the optical axis gives the derivative dy/dx at the reflection point and the recorded point gives the x-value of the same point.
