眼科領域における副腎皮質ホルモン使用の再検討—（その1．全身投与時の選択の問題）

Clinical studies on use of corticosteroids in ophthalmology.:Part 1. Studies of steroids for treatment of eye diseases

I．緒言

　副腎皮質ホルモン出現以来，ここに10数年，我々は実に莫大な文献の渦の中に流されて来た。その探究の鉾先は眼適応症の問題，有効量，更に副作用の問題と向けられ今なお，広汎な範囲に研究が行われている。今回ここで更めて質的な選択の課題を取り上げた所以は，それが第1義的なもので副作用の問題疾病経過の遅延，悪化，時に経済面も皆選択の如何にかかつて来ると考えたからである。最近3カ年の小医院の統計で例数も少く，これを以つて云々は出来ぬ迄もいささかの成績を得たのでここに報告する。

A study is presented over the comparative therapeutic efficacy of peroral use of Pred-nisolone, Dexamethasone, Triamcinolone and Betamethasone for various eye diseases. Anal-ysis of the author's own cases and those from literature revealed the following results :

1) All the four corticosteroid preparations showed similar beneficial effects on acute retrobulbar neuritis.

2) Prednisolone brought about the most favourable results in chronic retrobulbar neuritis.

3) Dexamethasone and Prednisolone were shown to be drugs of choice against idiopa-thic acute diffuse uveitis (Harada-Vogt-Ko-yanagi's disease).
