眼感染症に対する副腎皮質ホルモン使用の検討

Examination of the use of corticosteroids in the infections eye diseases

I．緒言

　副腎皮質ホルモンは1949Hench，Kendall^1）がコーチゾン（c）の臨床的応用を発表して以来，各方面で研究され，眼科領域では1950AC．Woods^2）によつて始めて眼疾患の治療に使用されたが以来その卓越した効果が認められて，抗生物質と共に眼科治療に不可欠の薬剤になつている。

　副腎皮質ホルモンがアレルギー性疾患に対して著効のあることは異論がないが，感染症に対しては種々の場合がある。比較的初期の実験的感染症における報告^3）−8）は，感染の増悪，菌血症発生率，死亡率を増加することが強調され，禁忌とされているが，最近学者によつては，結核性髄膜炎，結核性胸膜炎，硅肺結核や又一般の感染症に対して，かなり広い適応を認めており，その中間にショック症状にある場合，アレルギー症状，中毒症状の強い様な特定の状態における感染症にのみ用いるべしとする，いわば限定使用論の立場をとる学者もある。

From the animal experiment on the effect of corticosteroid hormon on the suppurative diseases of the eye and from the clinical experience using the hormon oraly and locally in the infections, eye diseases the following conclusions were obtained:

1) In supprative eye diseases inflammation was suppressed for a while by the single use of cortisone, but it broke out again, making the disease more serious and the recoveryslower.

2) When affected shortly after the cortisone treatment was stopped, no suppression of the inflammation was found and the diseases generally became more serious than the control.
