　49歳時，胃癌の術前検査で上心臓型総肺静脈還流異常症と診断された．診断後16年間にわたり内科治療を続け，65歳まで生存しえた1剖検例を報告する．長期生存の条件を検討し，本異常症の40歳以上の高齢者21例についての臨床的考察を加えた．

A 65 year-old woman with supra cardiac type of total anomalous pulmonary vein connection (TAPVC) died of heart failure associated with pneumonia. At the age of 49 when she had an operation for gastric cancer, she was diagnosed as having TAPVC. Since then, she had been treated conservatively and was admitted to hospital 10 times because of heart failure, cardiac arrhythmias, diabetes mellitus, and/or pneumonia. At autopsy, the length of the anomalous vein which was connected to the superior vena cava was 5 cm without obstruction, and the size of the associated atrial septal defect (secundum type) was 2×2 cm.
