　胃の囊腫はまれな疾患であるが，中でも副胃あるいは重複胃と称される病変で生じた囊腫の報告例は数少ない．最近われわれは，胃のX線および内視鏡検査で術前に胃囊腫と診断され，術後の組織学的検索で副胃であることが分かった1例を経験したので，若干の考察を加えて報告する．

　A case of duplication of the stomach in a 24-year-old man is reported. He had presented with a symptom of gastric outlet obstruction twice in the past. When he was admitted, he was healthy and had no symptoms and signs except heartburn and belching.

　On laboratory examination, serum levels of gastrin were high (310 Pg/ml). Other routine studies of the blood were within normal limits. Gastric analysis revealed hyperacidity and hypersecretion. Roentgenographic and endoscopic examinations of the stomach demonstrated a submucosal cyst on the greater curvature of the antrum. A partial gastrectomy was performed, followed by a Billroth-II anastomosis.

　The resected stomach showed a submucosal cyst measuring 4.5×3.0×3.5 cm. Histologically, the cyst consisted of the normal pyloric mucosa, submucosa and hypertrophic smooth muscle coat, which was contiguous with that of the stomach. In addition, a heterotopic pancreatic tissue was found at the pylorus.

　There were only four reported cases of gastric duplication in Japan, but about 70 cases has so far appeared in the literature abroad written in English. The pathogenesis, clinical features and treatment are briefly reviewed.
