　大腸の炎症性疾患のうち非特異性大腸炎の範疇に包括されている潰瘍性大腸炎，Crohn氏病，単純性潰瘍（いわゆる非特異性結腸潰瘍），孤立性直腸潰瘍などの病態については今日なお議論が多く，臨床的にも病理学的にも鑑別診断は難しいことが多い¹⁾．

　著者らも最近，直腸に発生した非特異性の潰瘍の1例を経験したので，その臨床像，色素撒布法を併用した内視鏡所見，および生検組織の検討から他の類似非特異性大腸炎との鑑別を試み，同時に内視鏡的経過観察から興味ある知見を得たので併せて報告する．

　A case of non-specific ulcer of the rectum is presented. From clinical, histotogical and endoscopical points of view, however, it was difficult to differentiate the so-called “solitary ulcer of the rectum” from ulcerative colitis (proctitis). Actually, this case had similar characteristics of ulcerative colitis regarding symptomatologic and/or endoscopical findings. Further, using dye scattering method for its endoscopic follow-up observation, we have concluded that the healing process of this ulcer was similar to that of duodenal ulcer but clearly different from that of ulcerative colitis. These facts are intrinsic nature of non-specific inflammatory disease of the colon.
