　大腸ポリープの見逃しの要因はrecognition errorとexposure errorの二つに分けられる。Exposure errorは死角に病変があり描出できていないため，視認性を向上させるlinked color imaging（LCI）やtexture and color enhancement imaging（TXI）が有用である。また，人工知能によるコンピュータ検出支援（computer-aided detection：CADe）に関しては，adenoma detection rate（ADR）向上を示すランダム化比較試験（randomized controlled trial：RCT）が多数報告されており，メタ解析も報告されている。
