変形性関節症の疫学

　地域住民コホートのＸ線調査結果を用いて，膝，腰椎，股関節，手の変形性関節症（OA）の有病率について検討したところ，変形性膝関節症の有病率は54.6％（男性42.0％，女性61.5％），変形性腰椎症70.2％（男性80.6％，女性64.6％），変形性股関節症15.7％（男性18.2％，女性14.3％），手の変形性関節症の有病率は91.5％（男性89.9％，女性92.3％）であった。膝，腰椎，股関節のすべてにOA変化をみとめるものも全体の7.2％に認められた。OAと年齢，性別，体格との関連についても検討した。

　The prevalence of osteoarthritis（OA）in the knees, lumbar spine, hip joints, and hand joints was examined using the results of the X-ray survey performed in a population-based cohort entitled ROAD. The prevalence of knee OA was estimated as 54.6％（men 42.0％, women 61.5％）, lumbar spondylosis as 70.2％（men 80.6％, women 64.6％）, hip OA as 15.7％（men 18.2％, women 14.3％）, and hand OA as 91.5％（men 89.9％, women 92.3％）. The prevalence of OA in the knee, lumbar spine, and hip joints together was observed in 7.2％ of the study population. We also examined the relationship of OA with age, gender, and body build.
