MBP®は，牛乳に含まれる100種類を超える塩基性タンパク質から構成される複合物である。MBP®には骨代謝改善効果が確認されており，骨芽細胞や破骨細胞を用いた細胞実験から骨粗鬆症モデル動物，ヒト試験に至る様々なレベルで多くの報告がある。ヒト試験では，MBP® の摂取により骨形成と骨吸収のバランスが改善されること，年齢に関わらず骨密度が改善することが明らかになっている。その有効成分や安全性に関する研究も進んでおり，現在，MBP® は乳製品やサプリメントなどの様々な食品に利用されている。

　MBP is a complex of more than 100 basic proteins prepared from bovine milk. It was found that MBP improved the bone metabolism and there are many reports of in vitro studies using osteoblast and osteoclast, animal studies using osteoporosis model and human studies. In human study, oral administration of MBP modulate the balance of bone formation and resorption and improve bone mineral density regardless of age. Research on active component and safety of MBP has been conducted. MBP is used for the variety of commercial foods, such as dairy products, supplements and so on.
