関節リウマチは遺伝環境因子が寄与する多因子疾患である。ゲノムワイド相関解析（GWAS）によって，これまでに100以上の遺伝子領域が疾患発症に関わっていることが明らかになった。これらの多くは，遺伝子多型が発現に影響を与えている発現定量的形質遺伝子座（eQTL）であると考えられる。本稿では，関節リウマチ関連遺伝子としてHLA-DRB1, PADI4, CCR6などを例として挙げ，関節リウマチの遺伝素因について概説する。
Rheumatoid arthritis（RA）is a multifactorial disease, where both genetic and environmental factors are involved. Genome-wide association studies have been identified more than 100 loci associated with RA. Majority of these loci are expression quantitative trait loci（eQTLs）, in which genetic variants regulate the level of transcription. Here, I review the genetic background of RA, by describing the RA-associated genes such as HLA-DRB1, PADI4, and CCR6.
